Anna Allen, owner of BodyMindSpirit Connected, is spreading God’s word and sharing her gift of healing by hosting retreats for girls, ages 11-17, whom are currently living in foster care.

The retreats give the girls a time to relax, be pampered, and to laugh with their friends. The purpose is to bring healing to their body, mind and spirit.

Anna first came up with the idea for the program a few years ago when a representative of Miracles Outreach spoke at a Chamber meeting about the foster care program. At a separate event, a member of Thrivent Financial, a Christian financial group, was encouraging businesses to give back to the community. Anna knew she wanted to help others, and it was through these two organizations that the idea for the retreats began. The first one was held in October, 2016.

The next event will be held September 8 and another on October 6. Donations of food for the evening of the retreat are needed, as well as items for the girls. Contributions could include toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and other toiletries. Gift cards to the movies, bowling, and other activities would be greatly appreciated.

Volunteers are needed for the events. One volunteer, a laughter yoga instructor, travels all the way from Orlando to share her gift with the girls.

If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to donate items, please contact Anna Allen at 813-215-5050.
